The Day My Phone Outsmarted Me

What’s that one habit that makes you mad at yourself? You know, the one that makes your family roll their eyes and go, “Here we go again…” 😂
Mine? Putting my phone on silent. Every. Single. Time. I do night shift, so I tend to put my mobile on silent, and when I get back home, I leave it on silent so that I can have some rest. But on days when I'm off, I keep it on silence. These alerts are so annoying, all this pinging.
Yesterday, I went upstairs and suddenly started searching for my mobile. My husband tried calling it a few times. No sound. Why would there be? I’d put it on silent (as usual).
Where was it? Not in my bag. Not in my pocket. Not on the bed. Guess what gave it away? The morning alarm. There it was — buried under a heap of books like it was playing hide and seek.
This morning, I woke up and thought: Enough is enough. I’m turning over a new leaf.
I turned the volume back up and changed it from mute. And guess what? I almost missed an important call — one that would’ve left some of my family stranded. See what I mean? Amazing things happen when you actually try.
Even my husband is tired of complaining, and now the baby of the house has joined the chorus: “Mum, turn your phone up!”
So tell me — what’s the one annoying habit you’re finally going to tackle? 👀
