Why Christmas Still Matters — The Miracle We All Need Right Now

ree

Let’s talk about this verse for a minute:

“A virgin shall conceive…” (Isaiah 7 vs. 14)

Sis, let’s be honest. If someone told you that today, you’d look at them like:

“Are you alright, love? Do we need to call psych for a mental capacity assessment?”

Because virgins don’t get pregnant, the maths doesn’t match.

But that’s precisely why this prophecy blows my mind every year. God spoke something that made NO sense—and then perfectly fulfilled it.

God specialises in the impossible.

The One who makes rivers in the desert, the One whose ways are not our ways, the One who created everything from nothing…He promised a miracle, and He delivered one.

Just like Nathaniel Bassey sings: “If You’ve said it, You will do it… You have a track record of keeping your word.”

Christmas is evidence.

The true meaning of Christmas

Isaiah continues:

“Unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given.” (Isaiah 9 vs 6).

That “us” makes my heart glow. "Us" — the tired, the imperfect, the overwhelmed, the everyday women just trying to make it through December without crying in the toilet.

The gift of Jesus wasn’t for a select group. It was for all humanity.

God became man and dwelt among us. Not above us. Not far from us. Among us.

Christmas is God saying, “I see your struggle. Here is My Son. Here is my love. Here is salvation — freely.

Before you stress about gifts…

We mums often push ourselves to get the “perfect” gifts — even if it means stretching budgets and our sanity. But before you do all that, pause and ask:

  • Have you received the real gift?

  • Have your loved ones?

  • Have you embraced the peace Jesus offers?

Because that’s what Christmas is truly about.

A meaningful gift for the women in your life

If you’re looking for Christmas gifts that bring calm, reflection, and emotional wellness — something more profound than a last-minute supermarket candle —my colouring books make beautiful, thoughtful presents.

They remind women to breathe. To pause. To reflect. To reconnect with themselves and with God.

And honestly, sis? That’s a gift we all need.
